Bronchilift Cough & Cold contains:
Pelargonium sidoides DC:
A traditional herbal remedy also known as Geranium, Kalwerbossie or Rabassam, that has been used in South Africa for many generations.
Extensive clinical research has been done on extractions of Pelargonium sidoides DC5 over the years and has confirmed the medicinal uses and safety of this plant by the people in the Eastern Cape for various respiratory diseases, highlighting its significant antibacterial, antifungal and even antiviral properties. It has been shown to reduce the duration and severity of symptoms in acute upper respiratory tract infections, including acute bronchitis2, tonsillopharyngitis, sinusitis and the common cold1,5.
Hedera helix L:
Otherwise known as Ivy leaf is known for its expectorant properties – assisting in expelling mucous and other material from the lungs and airways.
Ivy leaf contains saponins which are considered to have mucolytic (liquifying mucous), spasmolytic (relieving spasms or cramps in the bronchial muscles), bronchodilatory (opening of the bronchi and bronchioles, allowing for better breathing) and antibacterial effect.
